Our SAAP Rescue

Jill Monroe, one of the founding Charlie's Angels, is what Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) called me. I seldomly responded to my name as I was only a ten-week-old puppy. I spent several weeks with my wonderful foster mom before she took me and my siblings to some strange new place. This place was chaotic! There were many dogs and most of them moved around with uncertainty and agitation but not me. I was tired but tame, gentle but huge, aware yet content. As I looked around, I knew it had to be a special day because there were many humans anxiously awaiting our arrival.

In the distance I heard "There she is!". My future owners were amazed by how calm I was. I then heard the same voice, this time much closer to me, asking "Can I hold her?". As I was transferred from my firm comfort, I then landed in very uneasy hands. Still, I rested. I then heard "Do you like her?", as I greeted this soft voice with a gentle kiss. In a much deeper masculine tone, I heard "She is coming home with us!".

Who knew that the most nervous, yet confident humans would begin to provide the most exciting new life for me? The morning of February 12th, at the Newport PetSmart, I was secretly recruited to rescue my humans! After all, I was one of the founding Charlie's Angels.

We are so blessed to have you as the newest member of our family. You have taught us the meaning of patience and unconditional love. Your presence in our lives has encouraged us to slow down and smell the roses or poop, since you do A LOT of the pooping. We are and will be forever thankful for you, the one who rescued our hearts!
