A Riverfront Engagement- Newport, KY
On December 8th, the most thought-out scavenger hunt was accomplished. It began with a single rose. The rose and a card steered Emily to the hair salon. A portion of the card read, “One, you’re like a dream come true.”, sung by Brian McKnight. This was quite fitting as Tony felt that Emily could be the one at first glance. Then, two roses led to her guide. Someone Tony trusted to aid the evening, one of her best friends. This card recited Etta James “I found a dream, that I could speak to. A dream that I can call my own.”. The scavenger hunt's significance intensified. Then, three roses were provided to express his love. The card interpreted his heart, “… In your eyes, I see my future in an instant.” Tony was inconspicuously moving behind the scenes just a few steps ahead of Emily, to keep the surprise confidential. Emily was then escorted home. There, six roses were given to articulate his want to be hers. This card read, “I could make you happy, make your dreams come true. Nothing that I wouldn't do. Go to the end of the earth for you. To make you feel my love”, sung by Adele. At home, Emily was directed to hand-pick a dress. There, nine roses were given to signify his eternal love. The next card read, “I will always love you” by Whitney Houston. The card instructed Emily to go to the riverfront in Covington. Next, a dozen roses awaited Emily, creating the “Perfect symphony.”. This card preceded the final question. If I could be a fly on the wall, I could see Emily squealing with the expectation of one of the most memorable nights of her life. The final card encouraged her to place the champagne in the fridge. “Always on my mind.” was a segment eloquently written on the last card. This proposal took time and finesse. Tony curated a series of love letters that contained the lyrics to some of the greatest songs of romanticism. He had orchestrated a beautifully passionate evening for the love of his life. Of all my years of enjoying, capturing, and facilitating romantic gestures, this is one of my favorite love proclamations!
Emily and Tony are one of my most beloved couples. Their affection for one another is palpable, making photographing their fondness effortless. When Emily and Tony shared their ideas for engagement locations, I knew their session would be epic. It made sense to capture images near the location Tony proposed! We captured lovely images on Overton Street, stunning portraits at New Riff Distillery, and dreamy photographs at Newport on the Levee. It was a perfect day for an engagement session.

Thank you for being you and for choosing me! I pray for a wonderfully stress-free engagement and wish you insurmountable love as you venture together. I pray that the romantic moments in your relationship are always cherished and supported. Alfred and I are cheering for you! As I shared with you during our initial meeting, I will probably shed several tears of happiness throughout your wedding day. I will be sure to pack a pocket of Kleenex. Thank you for trusting me to capture your most precious moments. I am excited to celebrate many more! I love you guys!
